Introduction

Lululemon Athletica Inc. is a Canadian manufacturer and retailer of yoga-inspired athletic apparel.  Founded by Chip Wilson in Vancouver Canada in 1998, the company is a yoga inspired, technical athletic apparel for women and men. It first started as a design studio during the day and a yoga studio at night and it later became a standalone store in November of 2000 on West 4th Avenue in Vancouver’s Kitsilano neighborhood.  As of today, Lululemon is operating in more than 4 countries around the world and is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange.  Lululemon has more than 200 corporate-owned stores throughout the United States. Their first designers were made for women to wear during yoga, however, after good feedback from guests, ambassadors and elite athletes they are now designing apparel for different sports such as cycling, training and most other athletics clothes for men and women. The company vision was to create more than a place where people could get gear to sweaty in and wanted to create a community hub where people could learn and discuss the physical aspect of healthy living, mindfulness and living life with possibility. Lululemon's core values are quality, product integrity, balance entrepreneurship, greatness and fun lives.

Healthy living and exercising are very important to Lululemon. The company's aspiration for the store was to build a foundation where people will feel comfortable and confident to sweat in clothes. They wanted to create a community where people can give each other advice and speak about their experiences, goals and dreams. Lululemon wants to make it a better experience for customers to enjoy sweating and working out. Celebrating goals is what they aim to do with their customers.
